Anastomosis

When operations are performed a large percentage of the total time at the operation table is often spent “putting the pieces back together”. This primarily includes re-connecting blood vessels (anastomosis) in order to supply the concerned tissue with oxygen and nutrients. However, the conventional suture- based techniques for doing this - which are used in the vast majority of the cases today – is time-consuming and requires advanced surgical skills in order to minimize the risk of complications after the operation.

Annually over 5 million anastomotic procedures are being performed, this market has a value of 15 billion USD. The sub-segment of vascular anastomotic procedures which is the VasCuring® main application is approximately 6-7 billion USD.
